Part of Schaeffer's Take a Seat series of works that look at the duality of comfort/discomfort and support/lack of support. This is the first piece in oil created after the beginning of the war in Ukraine. It's also the first work where the seat is not open to us, it's facing down and away, and the path is blocked.
Unmounted artwork will be shipped mounted on acid-free board, enclosed in an archival clear bag in a rigid envelope. Mounting on cradled panel is an option - the sides are finished with wax furniture paste, leaving a natural finish. The painting is spray varnished with a satin-finish UV coating.
