Basic Drawing
​LOCATION: Durham Arts Council
(Ages 16 + up)
DATES: Fridays, 11/1 - 12/13, no class Black Friday

Drawing is a way of seeing and communicating. Develop your own personal eye and language as you discover principles of observations, composition, shading and mark-making. Each session will focus on a specific strategy and will include demonstration, practice and individual and group critique. Homework is encouraged.  
Beginners & Beyond Watercolor 
(Ages 16 + up)
​LOCATION: Durham Arts Council
DATE: Tuesdays, 9/3 - 10/8, 10/22 -12/3
6:30 PM – 9 PM 
FEE: $157.50

​Ideal for beginners, or experienced students who might want a refresher of the basics, with a new instructor. Students will learn how to use their materials and tools in a more sophisticated way while improving their understanding of color theory. The class begins with the technical foundation of watercolor painting and its tools through experimentation, eventually adding in works from observation. Students will be encouraged to work at their own pace, while the class will move through new concepts. Please check the DAC online catalog for supply list and to register.​
