Seat of the Strawberry Fields
Seat of the Strawberry Fields
7" x 5"
Watercolor on Strathmore CP Watercolor Paper
A continuation of the solitary chairs that I find myself strangely connected to, and wanting to just take a seat. Each one is paired with a related tea package transfer that the watercolor is painted over. Part of the fun is seeing through the painting to see if you can identify the tea packaging. They are also meant to invoke a feeling of mindfulness, encouraging the viewer to literally sit. This chair is the same as in Wild Sweet Orange Seat, but placed in a field of strawberries, on a hot summer day. It was a big burst of freedom that our family had this summer and placing the chair was a way of grasping at that space, environment, and freedom. Just to be - outside, in the wild.
Unmounted artwork will be shipped mounted on acid-free board, enclosed in an archival clear bag in a rigid envelope. Mounting on cradled panel is an option - the sides are finished with wax furniture paste, leaving a natural finish. The painting is spray varnished with a satin-finish UV coating. Framing is available - please contact me.
*Please note - the mounted image is a digital mock up and actual placement on the panel can't be controlled. This piece does not have a deckled edge.
