A continuation of the solitary chairs that I find myself strangely connected to, and wanting to just take a seat. Each one is paired with a related tea package transfer that the watercolor is painted over. Part of the fun is seeing through the painting to see if you can identify the tea by Yogi Tea. They are also meant to invoke a feeling of mindfulness, encouraging the viewer to literally sit. This particular chair began from a reference that I can't recall and I didn't think it was going to be a strong painting. I set it aside and several weeks later returned to it and got to this place. After I was done, I felt it evoked something of the style of one of my favorite painters, Alice Neel; hence the addendum to the title.
Unmounted artwork will be shipped mounted on acid-free board, enclosed in an archival clear bag in a rigid envelope. Mounting on cradled panel is an option - the sides are finished with wax furniture paste, leaving a natural finish. The painting is spray varnished with a satin-finish UV coating.
