Ginger Thermal
Watercolor on Shellpaper and Collage
Mounted on Cradled Wood Panel
Available unframed or framed
7" x 5"
Part of Jennie’s new series of Tea Scapes that combine image transfers of tea packaging with layered landscapes of environments she’s explored, to both salvage detritus from the trash, as well as depicting a need for space and increased mindfulness.
This piece marks a shift in approach - the tea packaging was layered over the wood panel and left more exposed. The painting is actually painted directly on shellpaper, a rice paper which is coated with an emulsion of seashell powder. The surface was magnificent to work on, quite better than anticipated and lends itself so nicely to the elusiveness of both the watercolor and the geyser environment at Yellowstone which is ever changing.
