Ms. Sunbeam in Taffeta (Vintage Egg Cooker) SOLD
The first finished work of 2015 explores a portrait of a shiny, vintage Sunbeam egg cooker draped in a handmade blue striped taffeta apron. The Oscars must have been on my mind as I was thinking about the metaphor of an aproned appliance, what was once a vogue kitchen tool to help women get out of the kitchen! There will be more in the future. Painted in vibrant oils on un-cradled Gessobord, the work is archival and ready for framing.
Finished on February 24th, the painting is still drying, but will be ready for shipment in about a week.
