The heat is gone and fall is upon us, a great time to get outside, learn to paint and connect with other students. Under the canopy of the trees surrounding the Eno River, breathing in nature, listening to the sound of the river, we'll explore ways of working in watercolor en plein air. While this isn't true "forest bathing", being in the forest is shown to lower blood pressure and cortisol levels. Making art also provides some of the same benefits. We will explore working at different paces to capture the essence of our environment, on smaller formats, with portable supplies - working in a sketchbook on exercises - the aim being to get you comfortable painting within the forest. A supply list and general recommendations for enjoying your time painting in nature will be sent out upon enrollment.
*Inclement weather days will be held on Zoom.
